The Tall Ships Races Bordeaux 2027 and Bordeaux Wine Festival are joining forces in July 2027 to create a unique event: Sails & Vineyards. A major public celebration uniting different cultures, generations and regions through a shared passion for the sea and wine.
The Tall Ships Races – setting sail from Bordeaux from 7 to 11 July 2027
Bordeaux is hosting the international Tall Ships Races – an event that is not to be missed!
From 7 to 11 July 2027, the city of Bordeaux will come alive to the rhythm of these giants of the seas. Around forty tall ships from all corners of the globe will line the quayside before the start of the race organised by Sail Training International. Parades of ships and crews, tours on board the tall ships, and a wide range of festivities will give everyone a taste of the maritime world. Then, on 11 July, will come the eagerly awaited moment: the grand departure! The tall ships will leave Bordeaux on a spectacular race to A Coruña (Spain) and then onward to Sines (Portugal). On board, 200 trainee sailors, aged between 15 and 25, will embark on a unique adventure between Bordeaux and A Coruña, learning the art of sailing on these magnificent training ships.
Whether you come as a spectator or are ready to set sail, one thing is certain: this adventure cannot be described – it must be experienced in person.
Bordeaux Wine Festival 2027
In 2027, Bordeaux Wine Festival will change its dates and move to the Garonne quayside from 7 to 11 July, to coincide with the Tall Ships Races, Bordeaux 2027. Since 1998, this flagship event has been celebrating the richness and diversity of Bordeaux and Nouvelle-Aquitaine wines in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
Organised by the Bordeaux Métropole Tourism and Conventions Office, with support from the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (Bordeaux Wine Trade Council), this event brings together winegrowers, merchants, local residents and visitors from all over the world in a shared passion: showcasing the wine-making expertise of France’s leading organic wine-producing department.
